Detaille's Cavaliers of Napoleon

Edouard Detaille was at one time the official painter of the French army and perhaps the finest artist in the field of military iconography. This set of twelve prints comes from his l895 work,
THE CAVALIERS OF NAPOLEON. Exquisite steel engravings were made from some of his most detailed and famous paintings and the result is almost photographic down to the groundwork and backgrounds which are all but ignored by most artists. This set is truly a “must have” for any French Napoleonic enthusiast.
