About our Books
The artists, writers, and publishers of our Uniformology Book series are all experienced uniformologists with many years of experience in the study of the history of the military uniform and its evolution. All of our works are an expression of our passion for the study of this rather esoteric subject and our love of the ability to transport our audience back in time to see uniforms of the worlds armies from the most important to the most obscure. Like a time machine on paper we provide a new dimension to the study of military history. Whether you are a serious student of the wars of the 18th or the 19th Centuries or a fan of historical fiction like Bernard Cornwell’s Sharpe’s books our publications allow you to visualize the actual uniforms worn by the armies of your period.
Our writers spend many hours researching their subjects in the difficult areas of contemporary publications and first hand observations in many different languages. Our artists work from their own research and study with a passion for their subjects rather than just being given an assignment. Our reproductions of art from the artists of the 18th, 19th and early 20th Centuries are very carefully restored to the highest standards. Often the fine work of many of these famous painters and illustrators has been obscured or damaged by the limitations of hand coloring and printing available when the originals were done. Our research and modern computer technology are combined with their works to produce illustrations that are quite often far more accurate, detailed and colorful than the originals.
We are an independent publishing company with no corporate masters. Our books and subject choices are not driven by anything but our own passion and interest and a desire to offer the most accurate and detailed coverage of our subjects. We also work to honor and preserve the work of our predecessors in the area of military iconography from all countries and all periods.
