Lucien Rousselot

Born in 1900, he was one of the the most prolific and admired military artists of the 20th century. Central to his art was the uniformology of the 1st Empire. He produced well over 100 military prints of the French Army from the Ancien Regime until the end of World War II. He collaborated with Eugène-Louis Bucquoy with the influential military magazine La Passepoil. He was also involved with the company La Sabretache. Among his many honours he was a Knight of the Legion of Honor,‎ Officer of Arts and Letters and‎ Knight of the Order of Academic Palms.  He died in May 1992.
