THE WORLD OF MILITARY UNIFORMS
Eduarde Detaille (1848-1912) was a renowned French illustrator who was famous for his realistic depictions of battles and uniforms. He fought with the French Army during the Franco Prussian War (1870-71) and in later years designed uniforms for the French army, which although not accepted in entirety did produce the famous Horizon Blue colour adopted by the French Army in 1915.
