The popular artist JOB, born Jacques Marie Gaston Onfroy de Bréville in 1858, was a prolific military and costume illustrator and historian. Murat, Le Grand Napoléon des petits enfants, Jouons à l'histoire, Louis XI, Napoléon, Bonaparte and Les Gourmandises de Charlotte are among his best known works. He also illustrated the life of George Washington and was well known in the USA. His uniform illustrations not only displayed his attention to accuracy and detail, he inserted realism and humour.
