This is a series published in 1845 by Charles Vernier, Aubert & Co, Paris
It was titled "Costumes de L'Armee Francaise depuis LouisXIV Jusqua Nos Jours" Some of the prints were republished in Tradition Magazine in the 1970s. The plates in a bound volume belonged to the late Lt. Col J.B.R. Nicholson, who purchased the volume after WW2.
There were originally 66 plates but Nicholson only possessed 22.
